Mmmmm...spring

It's really starting to feel like summer is on its way with the Magnolia trees blossoming! I walk to work as the stroll is only about 15 minutes from my house. I look forward to greeting the lobstermen and the shop owners setting up on the sidewalks. I think about how lucky I am to have a commute like this!
I've been working on orders like crazy in the shop...and all is under control. It's time to hit the road and find more accounts!

The Bright Side Project

Well it all started at Norm's Bar & Grill (like everything in my life!)...ran into a friend who introduced me to a new friend who told me about www.thebrightsideproject.com---a cool and hip place to shop.  So I check it out (I concur:  cool and hip) and contact them about my cool and hip jewelry...they love it...next thing you know I'm sending them my info so they can post my give away this month.  Here's the best part...you don't have to pay for it rather you have to be the winner of the best answer to my random question.  So have no fear you loyal bloggers, you will know the day that they are planning to run my post!  Yipee!

Baby Steps

Good things are happening in the studio! I am rackin up wholesale accounts and inquiries from all over the country. I'm playing around with some new resin product and its turning out to be the best ever. My website continues to capture orders and wow potential customers. A dear friend of mine taught me how to...gulp...solder! Okay, I've been soldering but I've been cheating. I've learned how to make a strong beautiful solder that's gonna hold up to the strongest of 3 year olds! So the product just keeps getting better and it is increasingly getting out there to the masses.
My goal this week is to track down some local magazines to see if they want to do a story...I figure my jewelry is about wearing a story, so why not publish that?!

Bling

This ring is a new product for me...its a chunky sterling silver ring with a 16mm circlular bezel cup to hold your chart image! Pick your place--mine happens to be at this beach about a 15 minute drive from my home. Every time I look at my ring I think of happy days with sand in my toes and cheese doodle dust on my fingers...

DAY TWO

Anyone who has owned a business knows that the only way to success is starting from scratch. Oh sure, there are many books about the How-To's but seriously...you have to experience it all for yourself. And make many mistakes along the way. My old manager at GMAC used to say 'chock it up to tuition'. He was absolutely right. I was never much about school anyhow so I'd much rather learn my own way even if it cost me a little somewhere along the way.

And speaking of school, I'm not an art graduate although in another life time (or later in this one perhaps)...I'm just this business person who understands people (sales) and had a good idea. I also had the incredible drive to see my idea through. This is worth mentioning...how many times have you been at dinner and someone had a good idea that was gonna change their world? Okay, okay, stop counting...its just that people have LOTS of ideas about doing something (even if its to lose those last 10 pounds) but how many people do you know actually SEE IT THROUGH?

You can add me to your list. I may not see this whole blog thing through but I will surely make a go of my business. Have you checked out the website? It's beautiful: www.CHARTmetalworks.com.
